Healthy Aging
Melinda Coker would like to invite you to her Soup & Salad Supper Club, a one-night, eat-and-learn dinner, held on Tuesday evening, February 19, 2019, at The Cascades in Tyler, TX. Come and learn about the lifestyle changes you can make to prevent many chronic diseases and autoimmune conditions. You will also learn how to look and feel years younger than your chronological age!
If you received an invitation to a 3-series-event, please note that due to scheduling conflicts, it has been changed to a 1-night event.
Melinda has been researching and writing about healthy aging for more than a decade. She wants to open up your awareness about the possibilities that are engendered through lifestyle and then teach you about the four major components involved in healthy aging.
Once you hit “50,” your body no longer seems to be able to stand up to all the stressors that assail it every day, and unfortunately, this decade is often the beginning for a chronic disease or an autoimmune condition to make itself known.
Wouldn’t it be nice to just sail through the upcoming years with plenty of health and vigor? For over forty years, there have been randomized controlled trials and research studies that have proven you can do just that with some simple lifestyle changes.
This research has proved that many of the most common chronic diseases and even the damage of aging at the cellular level can often be slowed, stopped or even reversed. Common chronic diseases that can be prevented by lifestyle include: coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, non-aggressive prostate cancer, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, obesity, early-stage dementia, and some autoimmune conditions.
FEBRUARY 19, 2019 - THE FOUR COMPONENTS OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE & how to measure
How do you know if you are really healthy? What are your numbers? It is important to find out your health “numbers.” Learn what those numbers are and what they mean. If your numbers are not ideal, learn how the four components can help you change your numbers.
Oftentimes awareness is the first step in healing. You may have heard or read about things you should do, but then your skepticism gets in the way. You read about a new, miracle finding every day and then you pick and choose those that promise you can continue doing the same things you’ve always done.
If any of you has already had a fearful diagnosis, you may have changed your lifestyle briefly, but we know that fear is not a successful motivator over the long term. For lifestyle changes to be sustainable, they have to be pleasurable, meaningful and effective. And, they have to be freely chosen by you. No one else can do it for you.
If you think the only way to prevent heart disease, diabetes or a stroke is by taking medication or having invasive procedures, think again. Come and find out how to change your lifestyle so you can avoid those medications, invasive procedures and even disability or death from these diseases. We’ll also talk about cancer. Learn some lifestyle changes you can make to actually prevent many cancers, or, strengthen your immune system to fight cancer if you already have it.
